Gustawa Stendig-Lindberg ~ physician, scientist & poet. 1926 - 2008, of blessed memory

A forerunner in Magnesium Research in Biology & Medicine, for which she gained international recognition and authored over a hundred scientific publications on the subject, she was also a specialist in Rehabilitation of the Back and a Psychiatrist.

Pioneering "magnesium research" since 1967, she was invited to over eighty lectures around the globe including several presentations at the Gordon Conferences in USA.

Fellow of the Swedish Society of Medicine, Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in Great Britain, Member of the New York Academy of Sciences, Member of the American Academy of Rehabilitation & Physical Medicine, Member of the Irish, British, Israeli & Swedish Medical Associations, Member of the Scientific Committee for the International Symposia on Magnesium, she was the founder and co-President of the Israeli Society for Magnesium Research in Biology and Medicine ~ Israel.

Gustawa Stendig-Lindberg was a time-honoured poet and published four collections of poetry and hundreds of poems in four languages (Polish, English, Swedish & Hebrew) in journals worldwide.

Chairperson of Miriam Felicia Lindberg Memorial Foundation established to honour the memory of her daughter ~ a poet who died at the age of eighteen ~ she granted biannually the "Miriam Lindberg Israel Poetry for Peace Prize".
